Free social media schedulers, and what their free plans actually include

Short answer. Most "free" plans in this category exclude the platform you most want to test. Buffer gives 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts each. Upload-Post gives 10 uploads but no TikTok. Blotato, Postiz hosted and Hootsuite have trials, not free plans. PostWire's free plan is one brand with all of its networks, 30 posts a month, TikTok included, no card.

Why TikTok is the tell

TikTok's Content Posting API requires an audit before an app can publish for other people. Ours was rejected twice — once for an "Invalid Website URL" — and approved seven days after the second fix. A free plan that excludes TikTok usually means the company has not been through that, or is rationing the platform that costs it the most to support. It is the single most useful thing to check before you invest an afternoon setting a tool up.

What "free" costs you elsewhere

Watch for three limits that are easy to miss: a cap on scheduled posts rather than published ones (you run out of queue, not of posts), a channel count that treats each network of the same business as a separate unit, and trials that quietly need a card to start. The comparison above lists all three.

Start free — 1 brand, all its networks, no card

30 posts a month on the free plan. Starter is $9/month for three brands and 300 posts; Pro $29 for ten brands and 2,000. Flat per-account pricing — no per-network fee.

Questions people ask

Is there a genuinely free social media scheduler?
Yes, three of them. PostWire (1 brand with all its networks, 30 posts a month, TikTok included, no card), Buffer (3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each) and Upload-Post (10 uploads, 2 profiles, but TikTok excluded). Blotato, Hootsuite and hosted Postiz offer trials rather than free plans, and Ayrshare has no free option at all.
What is the cheapest paid social media scheduler?
PostWire at $9/month for three brands, each holding as many networks as it has. Upload-Post starts at $24, Blotato and Postiz at $29, Buffer bills $5 per channel, and Hootsuite starts at $99 per user per month.
Can I schedule TikTok posts for free?
On PostWire's free plan, yes — TikTok is included, with 30 posts a month. Upload-Post's free plan excludes TikTok. On Hootsuite and Blotato it is only available during a trial.
