Instagram lets apps publish only to professional accounts (Business or Creator). PostWire connects yours through the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram Business or Creator account, using PostWire's own Meta app — Meta App Review approved it on July 14, 2026, so you never need a developer app. If several Instagram accounts are linked to your Pages, you pick which one PostWire posts to.
In the Instagram app: Profile → ☰ → Settings and activity → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account, then pick Creator or Business. It is free and takes a minute. Personal accounts cannot be published to by any tool — that is Meta's rule.
From the Instagram app (most reliable): Profile → Edit profile → Page → Connect or create → choose your Page.
From Facebook on a computer: switch into your Page's profile → Settings → Linked accounts → Instagram → Connect account.
No Page yet? Create one at facebook.com/pages/create. You need to be an admin of the Page.
Open Accounts → Connect account → Instagram, keep Through a Facebook Page selected and press Continue to Instagram. Facebook shows “Continue as <your name>”, then asks which Instagram accounts and Pages PostWire may use: tick your Instagram account and the Page it is linked to, then Save.
From Claude or another AI agent: ask “connect my Instagram” and open the one-hour link it gives you; the steps are the same.
If your Pages have more than one Instagram account, PostWire asks “Which Instagram account should PostWire post to?” with one button per account. Click yours: Meta usually skips its screen the second time, so it is one click. Each brand in PostWire posts to one Instagram account; to post to another, connect it under another brand.
That's it: you come back to PostWire with the account connected and can publish photos, Reels and carousels of up to 10 items.
This is Meta's error when linking a Page, and it happens a lot with new accounts. What fixes it, in order:

| Linking from Accounts Center fails | Do it from the Instagram app (Edit profile → Page) instead — it uses a different path. |
| PostWire connected a different Instagram account | In Accounts, connect Instagram again and pick the right account, or tick only that account on Facebook's screen. |
A direct Instagram login without a Page is coming once Meta approves it. When it does, it appears as an option in Accounts → Connect account → Instagram and this page will say so. Accounts you connect through a Page today keep working.
