Import my posts
Switching tools

Move your scheduled posts from Buffer/Hootsuite/Later… in 2 minutes

Drop the other tool's CSV into PostWire. You see every row, with its time and network, before anything is scheduled. Rows that cannot come over are listed with the reason. Nothing is skipped without telling you.

The 2 minutes start once you have the file. Getting the file out of your old tool is step 1 below.

How it works

Get the file

Use the CSV you made for your old tool's bulk upload, or download your posts as a CSV if your tool offers that. The formats we read are listed below.

Drop it in

Dashboard → Automate → Import from another tool. Choose the timezone of the times in the file. If the file does not say which network a post goes to, tick the networks.

Check the preview

Every row is checked the way any PostWire post is checked: each network's length, media links that answer, approvals and your plan's limits.

Import

The ready rows go into your queue together. Rows with a problem stay out and each one says why. You can undo the whole import in one click.

The formats, tool by tool

We list a format only when we have checked it on the tool's own help page. We have not found any of these tools documenting a CSV download of the posts already in its queue. What they document is the CSV you upload to them, and that is the file the importer reads.

ToolWhat we readChecked
BufferIts bulk upload CSV: Text, Image URL, Tags, Posting Time. The file does not name the network, so you tick it. A row with no Posting Time goes to your next free slot.Help page, 9 Oct 2026
HootsuiteIts bulk composer CSV, with no header row: date and time in column A, the message in B, an optional link in C. You tick the networks. If a date like 02/11 could be read either way, the preview asks you for the order.Help page, 9 Oct 2026
MetricoolIts CSV for batch posts: text, date and time, one TRUE/FALSE column per network, picture URLs, first comment and brand name. Rows marked as drafts are imported as scheduled posts, with a note.Help page, 9 Oct 2026
PublerIts help page names the columns Date, Text, Link and Media URL. We read them by those names. Publer's file has no network column, so you tick the networks.Help page, column names only
Later, SocialPilot, Sendible, Vista Social, anything elseAny CSV with a column for the text, one for the date (or date and time), and optionally network and media URL. Common names are recognised, such as Caption, Message, Scheduled, Profile, Channel and Image URL. The preview shows which column it used for what. Not checked: read by column names

What does not come over

  • Analytics. Past reach, clicks and follower history stay in your old tool.
  • Comments and replies. Neither the conversations nor the inbox come over.
  • Media that is not reachable by a link. An image or video comes over only when the file has a public https link to it. Files that live only in the old tool's media library do not. The preview tells you which links do not answer.
  • Networks PostWire does not post to, such as Pinterest and Google Business Profile. Those rows are listed as not imported, with the network named.
  • Queue rules and posts already published. Recurring rules, evergreen queues and your post history are not part of the file.

Limits, plainly

  • Up to 1,000 rows per file. For more, split the file.
  • Your plan's limits apply as they do to any post: rows per upload, networks per post and the size of the scheduled queue. When the queue is full, the extra posts are saved as held and listed in the preview. They are not dropped, and they go out once you upgrade. See pricing.
  • Approval rules apply. A post that needs approval waits for it.
  • The same file twice is refused, so a double click never doubles your queue.
  • From code: POST /api/import/calendar with dry_run: true for the preview, then dry_run: false. Undo with DELETE /api/bulk/<batch_id>.

Agencies on the Agency Founding 20 offer can send us the files instead, and we load them for you.
