Post to TikTok from Zapier, even though Zapier can't
Zapier's TikTok app has a trigger for new leads and nothing that uploads a video. Add PostWire as the action and any Zap can publish to TikTok: a new file in a Drive folder, a row in a sheet, a form, a new product.
Free on both sides to start. The PostWire app for Zapier is in beta: the invite adds it to your Zapier account.
What Zapier has for TikTok today. The TikTok Lead Generation app lists one trigger, New Lead, and no actions. When someone asked in Zapier's community in January 2026 how to post directly to TikTok, the answers pointed to the Social Media Marketing category without naming an app that does it.

A Zap that posts to TikTok, step by step
- Connect TikTok in PostWireSign in to TikTok from your dashboard. Zapier never sees your TikTok login; it sends the post to PostWire, which publishes it.
- Accept the inviteOpen the invite link once. PostWire then shows up in Zapier's action list. Zapier asks for your PostWire API key the first time (dashboard, API & MCP).
- Pick a triggerFor example Google Drive, New File in Folder. Share the folder with "anyone with the link" so the video can be fetched.
- Add PostWire, PublishNetworks: TikTok (add Instagram or YouTube if you like). Video URL: the file's link. Text: the caption. TikTok and YouTube visibility: Public (everyone).
- Test and turn it onThe test step returns the post's link. TikTok takes a minute or two to process a video, so the link can arrive as "processing" first.
Zaps people build for TikTok
| When this happens | PostWire does |
|---|---|
| New video in a Google Drive or Dropbox folder | Publish to TikTok, Reels and Shorts with the same caption |
| New row in Google Sheets (caption, video link, date) | Schedule a Post for that date; it goes out from PostWire's servers even if Zapier is off |
| New product in Shopify, with a product video | Write and Publish: one idea, a caption written for TikTok and another for Instagram |
| New Typeform or Tally submission with a video link | Publish to TikTok as Only me, so you review it in the app before making it public |
Before you build
- Choose the visibility. TikTok asks the account owner to choose who sees each post, so an empty field is posted as Only me. That is the most common "it worked but nobody can see it".
- TikTok needs a video. A text-only Zap still publishes on the other networks you picked and reports TikTok as needing media.
- The link has to open without a login. Drive and Dropbox share links are converted to the direct file; a private file cannot be fetched.
- Posts count once per network. One video sent to TikTok and Instagram uses two of your monthly posts. Zapier counts its own tasks separately.
Questions
- Can Zapier post to TikTok?
- Not with Zapier's own TikTok app: TikTok Lead Generation has one trigger, New Lead, and no action that uploads a video. A Zap can post to TikTok through an app that has a publish action, such as PostWire.
- Why did my TikTok post from Zapier go up as private?
- An empty visibility is posted as Only me. In PostWire's actions, set TikTok and YouTube visibility to Public (everyone). The field was added on Nov 3, 2026; Zaps built earlier show it after you open the action again.
- Does it work on Zapier's free plan?
- Yes. A trigger plus one PostWire action is a two-step Zap, which Zapier's free plan runs within its monthly task limit. PostWire's free plan publishes 10 posts a month to up to 2 networks per post.
- I use Make or n8n.
- Same API, different tool: Make, step by step or the n8n node.
