How to post to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from n8n

n8n has no core node that publishes to TikTok, so you call a posting API that already holds TikTok's Direct Post approval. With PostWire, one node does it: install n8n-nodes-postwire, choose Post → Publish, tick TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, set Media to a URL or a binary file, and pick Smart Distribute: Write a Native Post per Network to get a different caption, YouTube title and tags for each. On n8n Cloud, where unverified nodes can't be installed, an HTTP Request node does the same with one call.

Typical trigger: a new file in Google Drive, an approved row in a sheet, or the output of an AI video step. PostWire publishes the file as is — it does not edit the video.

Written from PostWire's own code and checked on Oct 1, 2026. Live networks: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn (personal profiles), Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord — not X, Threads, Reddit or Pinterest.

Step by step

  1. Create a free PostWire account

    Open postwire.io/dashboard.html, type your email and press Create my free account. PostWire emails you a link to confirm the address; connecting accounts and publishing unlock once it is confirmed. No password and no card (free plan: 1 business, 30 posts a month, 15 AI drafts a day, every live network, no card).

  2. Connect TikTok, Instagram and YouTube

    Open Accounts, press Connect on each network and then Continue to TikTok (or Instagram, YouTube). You sign in on the network itself and come straight back; PostWire never sees your password and you do not need your own developer app — PostWire's TikTok, Meta and Google approvals cover it. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account; Log in with Instagram works without a Facebook Page.

  3. Copy your API key

    In the dashboard, open API & MCP and press Copy key on the API key card. It is sent as Authorization: Bearer pw_live_… (the X-API-Key header also works). Keep it server-side.

  4. Install the node (self-hosted n8n)

    In n8n: Settings → Community nodes → Install, enter n8n-nodes-postwire. Add a PostWire API credential with the key. The node is not verified by n8n yet, so it installs on self-hosted n8n; on n8n Cloud use step 6b.

  5. Configure Post → Publish

    Networks: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube. Content: Smart Distribute: Write a Native Post per Network, with the Idea from the previous node (e.g. {{ $json.description }}). Media: URL (a public link straight to the .mp4, up to 1 GB) or Binary File (up to 50 MB through n8n). Under Options, Visibility is Public by default; Dry Run checks everything without publishing.

  6. Or, on n8n Cloud, use one HTTP Request node

    POST to the REST API with your key; drafts are written server-side when you send per_platform from /api/generate, or send one text:

    POST https://postwire.io/api/post
    Authorization: Bearer pw_live_…
    Content-Type: application/json

    {
      "platforms": ["tiktok", "instagram", "youtube"],
      "video_url": "{{ $json.video_url }}",
      "title": "{{ $json.title }}",
      "text": "{{ $json.caption }}",
      "privacy": "public",
      "idempotency_key": "{{ $json.id }}"
    }
  7. Read the result

    The node returns one result per network with its id and link. TikTok and YouTube keep processing after upload: Post → Get Status (or GET /api/post/status) tells you when it's live. To publish later, use Post → Schedule with Publish At.

Google Drive or Dropbox share links open a web page, not the file: in the node use Binary File after a Google Drive download step, or a direct file link. A retry with the same Idempotency Key is refused for 24 hours, so a re-run never double-posts.

Where the others are ahead of PostWire

  • Verified nodes and templates: Blotato (about 80 templates on n8n.io) and Upload-Post are verified, so they install on n8n Cloud. PostWire's node is still waiting on verification.
  • More networks: both reach X, Threads and Pinterest. PostWire doesn't yet.
  • Your own TikTok app costs nothing, but until TikTok audits it, its posts are private-only and limited to 5 users a day. PostWire's approval is already done.

Questions people ask

Does n8n have a TikTok node?

Not one that publishes videos. You call a posting API from n8n — through a community node such as PostWire's, Blotato's or Upload-Post's, or with the HTTP Request node.

Can one n8n node post to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube at once?

Yes. The PostWire node's Publish operation takes several networks and one video and returns a result per network; with Smart Distribute each network gets its own caption, and YouTube a title and tags.

Does it work on n8n Cloud?

PostWire's community node is not verified by n8n yet, so it installs on self-hosted n8n only. On n8n Cloud, use the HTTP Request node against https://postwire.io/api/post with the same fields.

How big can the video be?

Up to 1 GB from a public URL; up to 50 MB when passed as a binary file through n8n.

Will TikTok posts be public?

Yes if Visibility is Public, which is the node's default. Through the raw API, send "privacy": "public" — without it TikTok posts are private.

How much does it cost?

Free for one business (30 posts a month; one video to three networks counts as 3). Starter $9/month for 3 businesses and 300 posts.
