How to post the same video to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts at once
A vertical 9:16 clip (1080×1920, MP4 or MOV) under 60 seconds is accepted by all three as a TikTok, a Reel and a Short without re-editing. What should change per network is the words around it — that is the part PostWire writes for you.
Written from PostWire's own code and checked on Oct 1, 2026. Live networks: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn (personal profiles), Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord — not X, Threads, Reddit or Pinterest.
Step by step
- Export one vertical video
9:16, 1080×1920, MP4 or MOV. Keep it under 60 seconds and it works as a TikTok, a Reel and a Short. PostWire publishes the file as uploaded — no cropping or re-encoding of video.
- Create a free PostWire account
Open postwire.io/dashboard.html, type your email and press Create my free account. PostWire emails you a link to confirm the address; connecting accounts and publishing unlock once it is confirmed. No password and no card (free plan: 1 business, 30 posts a month, 15 AI drafts a day, every live network, no card).
- Connect TikTok, Instagram and YouTube
Open Accounts, press Connect on each network and then Continue to TikTok (or Instagram, YouTube). You sign in on the network itself and come straight back; PostWire never sees your password and you do not need your own developer app — PostWire's TikTok, Meta and Google approvals cover it. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account; Log in with Instagram works without a Facebook Page.
- Add the video and tick the three networks
Go to Compose. In Your idea write one line about the video (what it shows, who it's for). Under Post to tick TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, then drop the file on Add photos or a video. On Instagram a video goes out as a Reel; you can also pick Reel (vertical video) under More options → Instagram & Facebook format.
- Press Write the posts and edit the drafts
Each network gets its own draft: a hook-first TikTok caption, a shorter Instagram caption, and for YouTube a title (up to 100 characters), a description, SEO tags and Visibility on YouTube. Every draft shows a character counter and can be edited, shortened or regenerated.
- Answer TikTok's settings, then publish or schedule
TikTok requires you to choose Who can view this video (Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me) — there is no default. Then press Publish now, or Schedule, pick a date and time and press Add to queue. Each network returns its own result and link; a failed one carries the network's own error and what to fix.
Automating it? The same thing is one REST call: POST https://postwire.io/api/post with {"platforms":["tiktok","instagram","youtube"], "video_url":"…", "title":"…", "text":"…", "privacy":"public"}. Through the API, TikTok posts are private unless you send a privacy value. See the n8n version and the API reference.

Where the others are ahead of PostWire
- More networks: Upload-Post and Repurpose.io list X, Threads and Pinterest among their destinations. PostWire has 9 live networks and none of those three.
- Video tooling: Repurpose.io watches your accounts and re-posts automatically, and Blotato makes AI visuals and video. PostWire publishes the file you give it; it does not edit video.

Why not post the exact same caption everywhere?
Because each network reads the text differently. TikTok and Instagram allow 2,200 characters but show only the first line; YouTube indexes a title of up to 100 characters, a description and tags; Instagram keeps at most 30 hashtags. The same clip with three captions written for each is the normal way creators post — PostWire just writes the three versions from one line so you only review them. All limits are on social media post sizes.
No video yet, only an idea? Make an image from this post turns the draft's own words into a clean 4:5 or 9:16 image, so TikTok (photo post) and Instagram can still publish it.
Questions people ask
Can I post to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts at the same time?
Yes, with a tool that publishes through each network's API. In PostWire you upload the video once, tick the three networks and press Publish now (or Schedule); each network gets its own caption and returns its own link.
Will Instagram post my video as a Reel?
Yes. On Instagram, PostWire publishes a video as a Reel (a photo goes to the feed). You can also choose Reel or Story under More options → Instagram & Facebook format. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account.
Does YouTube treat it as a Short?
YouTube decides that from the video: a vertical clip under 60 seconds is shown as a Short. PostWire uploads it through the YouTube Data API with the title, description, tags and visibility you set.
Is TikTok included on the free plan?
Yes. PostWire's free plan is 1 business, 30 posts a month, 15 AI drafts a day, every live network, no card. A post counts once per network, so one video to three networks uses 3 of the 30.
How big can the video be?
Up to 1 GB per file in the dashboard and the API (files over 50 MB upload in parts). Through the n8n node's binary input the cap is 50 MB; for larger files pass a public URL.
Does PostWire support X, Threads or Pinterest?
Not yet. The live networks are TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn (personal profiles), Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram and Discord.
Try it on one business, free.
