How to post to Facebook from Claude, and schedule the posts

Yes, Claude can post to Facebook and schedule the posts, through a connector: press Connect on PostWire in Claude's connector directory, tick your Facebook Page once, and ask "post this to my Facebook Page" or "schedule it for Friday at 9:00". Claude writes the post with generate_posts, shows it to you, and publishes it with post_to_social or queues it with schedule_post, up to 365 days ahead. It posts to a Page you manage, as text, a photo or a video, and the free plan covers it: 1 business, 20 posts a month, 5 AI drafts a day, 2 networks per post, no card.

Scheduled posts are published by PostWire's servers, so Claude and your computer can be closed when the hour comes. PostWire posts through Facebook's official Graph API, and Claude never sees your Facebook password.

Updated . Written from PostWire's own code; vendor prices read on Oct 14, 2026. Live networks: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn (personal profiles), Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, and X on paid plans.

Set it up and post, step by step

Prompt to copy once your Page is connected: Write a Facebook post about our Saturday open day, show it to me, and schedule it for Friday at 9:00 New York time.

  1. Add PostWire to Claude

    Open PostWire in Claude's connector directory and press Connect; it works in Claude on the web, on the desktop and on your phone. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http postwire https://postwire.io/api/mcp. A sign-in window asks for your email and a 6-digit code, which also creates a free PostWire account if you have none: no password and no card.

  2. Connect your Facebook Page

    Ask Claude: "connect my Facebook Page". It calls create_connect_link and gives you a one-hour link. Facebook shows "Continue as <your name>", then asks which Pages PostWire may use: tick the Page you want to post to and press Save. Pages you manage directly and Pages inside a Business Portfolio both appear.

  3. Ask for the post

    "Write a Facebook post about our Saturday open day." generate_posts returns a draft and publishes nothing. It is written for Facebook: 40 to 80 characters when the idea allows and under 250 otherwise, the hook in the first 125 characters (where the mobile feed cuts), 1 to 3 hashtags, and a link can stay in the body. Ask for changes in plain words until it reads right.

  4. Add a photo or a video, if you want one

    A file attached to the chat does not reach a connector, so Claude gives you an upload page instead (create_upload_link, valid 24 hours, up to 100 MB on the free plan and 1 GB on paid plans). Pick the file there and Claude attaches it to the post. A public https link to an image or a video works too.

  5. Publish now, or schedule it

    Say "post it" and Claude calls post_to_social. Say "schedule it for Friday at 9:00 New York time" and it calls schedule_post with that time; "put it in my next free slot" uses run_at: "next_slot". This is the call Claude makes:

    {
      "name": "schedule_post",
      "arguments": {
        "platforms": ["facebook"],
        "per_platform": { "facebook": { "text": "Open day this Saturday, 10 to 2. Coffee is on us ☕ #openday" } },
        "photo_url": "https://postwire.io/m/…/open-day.jpg",
        "run_at": "2026-10-23T09:00:00-04:00"
      }
    }
  6. Check the queue, and open the post

    "What's scheduled on Facebook?" calls list_scheduled_posts, and "cancel Friday's post" calls cancel_scheduled_post. Once a post is out, the result carries its link (https://facebook.com/…) and the Page it went to, and get_post_performance ranks your Facebook posts by reactions, comments and shares.

The same queue is on the dashboard's Queue page, with Reschedule and Cancel. Prefer to set it up by hand first? Open the dashboard, connect the account under Accounts and copy your key under API & MCP.

Where PostWire is ahead

  • The post is written for Facebook, and so is every other network's version: generate_posts turns one idea into a short Facebook post, an Instagram caption and a LinkedIn post in one request.
  • 20 posts a month on the free plan, without a card and without a time limit. Postiz starts with a 7-day trial, Blotato's MCP access is not part of its 7-day trial, and Upload-Post's free plan has 10 uploads a month.
  • The cheapest paid plan here: $9 a month for 3 businesses. Upload-Post $24, Postiz and Blotato $29.
  • No password and no key to start: the sign-in asks for your email and a 6-digit code, and that creates the free account too.
  • The next free slot: "put it in my next free slot" queues the post in your next open weekly posting hour.
  • A person approves what Claude queued: on paid plans, approval rules hold the post until you approve it from an emailed link.

  • Postiz — Facebook from Claude Cowork (custom connector https://mcp.postiz.com/mcp-oauth-dynamic or claude.ai/directory/postiz; OAuth; "a 7-day free trial, and paid plans start at $29 per month"): postiz.com/claude-cowork/facebook
  • Postiz pricing (7-day free trial; Standard $29 a month, 5 channels): postiz.com/pricing
  • Blotato — Facebook MCP server (publishes to Facebook Pages; $29/mo flat for 20 connected accounts; API and MCP access not part of the 7-day trial): www.blotato.com/mcp/facebook
  • Upload-Post — Facebook MCP server (endpoint, API key header, "works with any Upload-Post plan, including the free tier"): www.upload-post.com/mcp/facebook/

Can Claude schedule Facebook posts? Yes, and here is what the queue takes

  • Any time up to 365 days ahead: tell Claude your time zone once ("I'm in Chicago") and it sends the hour with its offset.
  • Your next free slot: set your weekly posting hours in the dashboard and "next free slot" fills them in order.
  • 3 posts waiting at once on the free plan, out of its 20 posts a month; paid plans (from $9 a month) lift that limit.
  • Published without Claude: the queued post is stored by PostWire and goes out at its time. Nothing has to stay open.
  • A person can have the last word: on paid plans, a brand's approval rules hold what Claude queues until you approve it from an emailed link. Claude cannot approve its own post.
  • The same idea on Instagram too: Instagram offers Log in with Instagram (no Facebook Page needed) or through a Facebook Page you manage. One request with both networks gets each its own text.

Facebook's rules Claude works within

  • Pages, not personal profiles: Facebook lets no app post to a personal profile, so Claude posts to a Page you manage. No Page yet? Create one at facebook.com/pages/create, then connect it.
  • What a post can be: text alone, a photo with its caption, or a video with its description.
  • What Facebook asks you to allow: listing your Pages, creating posts on them and reading their engagement (pages_show_list, pages_manage_posts, pages_read_engagement), plus business_management so a Page inside a Business Portfolio can be found.
  • Reels and Stories go through PostWire's REST API with options.facebook.post_type, with the same account: see network options.

What it does not do

Claude with PostWire publishes and schedules posts on your Facebook Page. It does not post to personal profiles or Groups, it does not read or answer comments or Messenger conversations, and it does not create ads.

Questions people ask

Can Claude post to Facebook?

Yes, with a connector. Claude has no Facebook access of its own; with PostWire connected from Claude's connector directory and your Facebook Page ticked once, Claude publishes text, photo and video posts to the Page when you ask.

Can Claude schedule Facebook posts?

Yes. Ask for a day and an hour and Claude calls schedule_post with that time, up to 365 days ahead, or with "next_slot" for your next free posting hour. PostWire publishes the post at its time, with Claude closed. The free plan keeps 3 posts waiting at once.

Can Claude post to my personal Facebook profile or a Group?

No. Facebook lets no app post to a personal profile, and PostWire does not post to Groups. Claude posts to a Facebook Page you manage.

Does Claude get my Facebook password?

No. You approve PostWire on Facebook's own screen and tick the Page it may use. Claude holds only a PostWire sign-in, and you can disconnect the Page in the dashboard or in Facebook's settings at any time.

Can I attach a photo from my computer?

Yes. A file attached to the chat does not reach a connector, so Claude gives you an upload page that is valid for 24 hours; pick the photo or video there and Claude adds it to the post.

Does it work in Claude Code and Claude Desktop?

Yes. Claude on the web, the desktop app and the phone use the Connect button in the connector directory. Claude Code adds it with: claude mcp add --transport http postwire https://postwire.io/api/mcp.

How much does it cost?

The free plan includes Facebook Pages and the MCP server: 1 business, 20 posts a month, 5 AI drafts a day, 2 networks per post, no card. Starter is $9 a month for 3 businesses and Pro $29 for 10, with every network in each post; paid plans have a 14-day refund.
