How to auto-post an RSS feed to social media
{title} and {link} or, on paid plans, written for each network with AI. What is already in the feed when you add it is recorded and not posted, so your followers never get a flood of old articles. The free plan includes 1 feed, read every 6 hours: 1 business, 10 posts a month, 5 AI drafts a day, 2 networks per post, no card. The same feed can be added with one call to the REST API (POST /api/rss), so a site builder, a CMS plugin or n8n can set it up for each new client. Paid plans read feeds as often as every 30 minutes, 25 feeds on Starter and 100 on Pro.
Updated . Written from PostWire's own code; vendor prices read on Oct 20, 2026. Live networks: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn (personal profiles), Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, and X on paid plans.
Set it up, step by step
You need the address of your site, blog or YouTube channel: PostWire finds the feed behind it. A feed address ending in /feed, /rss or .xml works too.
- Connect your social accounts
Open the dashboard (your email and a 6-digit code, no password and no card) and connect the networks under Accounts: LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, Instagram or X (X is on paid plans).
- Paste your site and find the feed
Under Automate, open Feeds & Sheets and paste your site, blog or YouTube channel into Paste your site, blog, YouTube channel or Google Sheet, then press Find it. PostWire looks for the feed behind the page: its RSS link, a YouTube channel's videos feed, Substack, Medium, WordPress, Ghost, or the usual /feed, /rss, /feed.xml and /index.xml. It reads RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 and Atom.
- Check the newest items
PostWire shows The newest items of the feed with the note "These are already out, so they are not posted. Each new one is." That is the rule: only items published after you turn the feed on become posts. To share the latest one as well, tick Also post the newest item now.
- Pick the networks and the post
Under Post to, tick the networks. Under The post, write the template with
{title},{link}and{summary}; it starts as the title, a blank line and the link. Each network's post is fitted to its own limit: the summary is shortened first, then the title, and the link is never cut. On paid plans, tick Write each network's post with AI and each item becomes a LinkedIn post, a Bluesky post and a Telegram message written for each, from the plan's AI drafts at no extra charge. Add the item's image when it has one attaches the article's image. - Choose how often and when
Read it sets how often the feed is checked: every 6 hours on Free, every hour on Starter and every 30 minutes on Pro. New items per read caps how many go out at once (1 on Free, 3 on Starter, 5 on Pro), oldest first. Under When, posts go out right away or in the brand's next free queue slot; under New items, Send to approvals holds each one until a person approves it (on every paid plan).
- Turn it on
Press See the next post to preview what the next item will look like, then Turn on. Each saved feed has a Read now button to check it at once. The same feed from your own code, with your API key:
curl -X POST "https://postwire.io/api/rss" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $POSTWIRE_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "url": "https://bakery.example/feed.xml", "platforms": ["linkedin", "bluesky", "facebook"], "template": "{title}\n\n{summary}\n\n{link}", "interval_minutes": 60, "max_items": 3, "mode": "auto", "post_at": "next_slot" }'
POST /api/rss/discover finds the feed behind any address first, POST /api/rss/preview shows the posts the next item would make, and GET /api/rss/{id}/items lists what happened to each item. Every field is in the automation docs.

Feeds and Google Sheets count together. Each post a feed makes counts toward the plan's posts for the month (10 on Free, 1,000 on Starter) and follows the brand's approval rules. Source: PostWire's plans, read Oct 20, 2026.
How a feed becomes posts
- Only new items are posted: the first read records what is already in the feed. An item counts as new only when both its id (guid) and its link are new, so an edited article is not posted twice.
- Oldest first: when several items arrive between two reads, they go out in the order they were published, up to the plan's items per read; the rest wait for the next read.
- Each network gets a post that fits: the template is fitted to each network's limit (300 characters on Bluesky, 500 on Mastodon), shortening the summary, then the title, and never the link.
- Images where they are needed: Instagram gets an item only when it has an image. YouTube and TikTok are left out of feeds, because they take only videos.
- A feed that keeps failing stops itself: a failed read is retried later and later (up to once a day), and the feed is turned off after 10 failed reads in a row.
What it does not do
A feed publishes text, a link and the item's image; it does not turn an item into a video for YouTube or TikTok. Items already in the feed when you add it are not posted, except the newest one when you ask for it. On X, which is on paid plans, a post with a link uses 10 X credits instead of 1. Feeds are set up in the dashboard or the REST API; PostWire's MCP server has no feed tool yet, though an AI agent can still post each article with post_to_social.
Questions people ask
How do I auto-post my RSS feed to social media?
In PostWire's dashboard, open Automate, then Feeds & Sheets, paste your site, blog or YouTube channel and press Find it, pick the networks under Post to, and press Turn on. Each new item becomes a post from your template, or written for each network with AI on paid plans.
Will it post all my old blog posts?
No. The first read records what is already in the feed and posts nothing. Only items published after that become posts. To share the newest existing item too, tick Also post the newest item now.
Can I auto-post a YouTube channel's new videos?
Yes, as posts that share the video's link: paste the channel's address and PostWire finds its videos feed. Each new video becomes a post on LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord or X. Feeds do not upload videos to YouTube or TikTok.
How often is the feed checked?
Every 6 hours on the free plan, every hour on Starter ($9 a month) and every 30 minutes on Pro ($29). Each saved feed also has a Read now button.
Can each network get a different post from the same article?
Yes, on paid plans: tick Write each network's post with AI and each item becomes a post written for each network, from the plan's AI drafts at no extra charge. When the drafts are used up, the template is used.
Can I approve each post before it goes out?
Yes. Under New items, choose Send to approvals and each new item waits until a person approves it. Approvals are on every paid plan.
